WALLINGFORD, Conn. (WTNH)– A Wallingford woman was arrested Tuesday for hiring a police informant to viciously assault and hospitalize her ex-husband.

Police say 59-year-old corrections officer Cynthia Hannon was arrested after an undercover investigation where she plotted and hired a person, who actually was a police informant, to brutally assault and hospitalize her ex-husband for $2,500.

Hannon’s ex-husband is a former corrections officer. She gave the informant detailed information about her ex-husband’s daily routine and provided photographs of him.

She gave the informant part of the $2,500 with the agreement that they would get the rest of the money after the assault was completed.

Hannon was arrested Tuesday at 10 PM at home and charged with criminal attempt at assault and conspiracy to assault. She was held on $100,000 bond.
