CROMWELL, Conn. (WTNH) — There’s entertainment inside the entertainment, it’s a vital part of the Travelers Championship.
“I think you have to go to the fan zone first because it looks nothing like a golf tournament,” Tournament Director Nathan Grube. “You got to go there and make sure you get a milkshake, climb the rock wall and play nine holes on the putting course.”
Smack dab in the middle of Connecticut’s professional golf event, fans have their own oasis.
“I don’t think people even realize how much of a family event this is,” said John Goyette of Cromwell.
“I think it’s awesome for kids, because a lot of my friends don’t like golf and when they come here they’re like, ‘I love golf,'” said Avery Goyette of Cromwell.
If you get tired of watching golf, the fan zone can cure your boredom with mini-golf.
