AGAWAM, Mass. (WWLP) – For years, it was the most famous ride in western Massachusetts, but it will soon be out of service.
According to park spokesperson Jennifer McGrath, the 3,400 foot long ride will only be open now through July 20.
In a news release sent to WWLP 22News, Six Flags New England President John Winkler said that they are always trying to come up with exciting new attractions, but sometimes that means taking old attractions out of service.
“It is always difficult whenever we say goodbye to a classic attraction, especially one that is so beloved like the Cyclone,” Winkler said.
The Cyclone opened in June of 1983 when the Agawam theme park was known as Riverside Park.
