Morris Cove death investigated

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — New Haven police are investigating the circumstances of a man’s death near the sea wall in the Morris Cove section of the city.

Police were called to the park around 8 a.m. for a report that a man had shot himself. The man was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

“Police determined the shot was self inflicted,” Officer David Hartman said in a statement.

Police said the man was 39, and from New Jersey.
