New Milford man dies after motorcycle crashes into van

NEW MILFORD, Conn. (WTNH)– A New Milford man has died after crashing his motorcycle into the back of a van this afternoon.

Police say they responded to the two vehicle crash on Still River Drive just north of Pumpkin Hill Road around 2:17 PM.

An early investigation revealed that 66-year-old Alexander Hamilton drove a 1986 Honda motorcycle into the rear of a 2012 Chevy van, driven by 55-year-old Christopher Murphy.

Murphy was stopped on Still River Drive S/B when Hamilton collided with him for an undetermined reason.

Hamilton was taken by Life Star helicopter to Danbury Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Still River Road was closed for a while during the investigation.

Anyone with information or who may have witnessed the crash is urged to call New Milford police at 860-355-3133.
