But ESPN.com’s Andy Katz reports that Napier is heading to the Miami Heat in a trade.

Free agent-to-be LeBron James tweeted the following after Napier was drafted:

My favorite player in the draft! #Napier

Asked how he felt about possibly playing with LeBron James, Napier said:

“I’m very excited, now it’s my job to get into the gym and prove it, compete my tail off like I always do.” Napier told ESPN’s Jay Williams after being drafted. “I’ll have a chip on my shoulder and that’s what makes me the best point guard in the draft.”

Napier averaged 18 points, 5 assists and 6 rebounds for the Huskies last season. He was named Most Outstanding Player in the NCAA Tournament in leading UConn to its fourth national championship.
