Woman’s body found near Short Beach in Stratford

STRATFORD, Conn. (WTNH)–Stratford police have identified the body of a white female that was found floating in the waters near Short Beach around noon on Friday.

Police said 40-year old Amy Golda, of Hamden, was found in the water. A silver alert was issued fpr Golda earlier in the day.

Golda was brought to shore and immediately transported by ambulance to Bridgeport Hospital. Attempts to revive her were unsuccessful, and she was pronounced dead shortly after 1 p.m.

Her cause of death was being investigated by the Medical Examiner’s Office.

The incident remains under investigation.
