Hartford man shot by assailant outside his home

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Police are trying to figure out who opened fire from outside an apartment in Hartford, hitting twice a man who was investigating knocking on his kitchen window less than two hours after midnight.

Police said that the victim suffered a gunshot wound in his groin area and a graze wound to his upper chest. He was in stable condition and in surgery Saturday morning.

The man was inside his Wadsworth Street apartment when gunfire erupted at around 1:40 a.m.

Investigators did not get a description of the suspect. They are looking for the suspect in a 2008 Mazda or Nissan.

Investigators ask anyone with information to contact police in Hartford.
