Protest over dismissal of animal shelter director

STAMFORD, Conn. (WTNH)– Many people gathered in Stamford Sunday, in protest for a Stamford Animal Shelter Director.

The protesters assembled, angry over the dismissal of the former director.

Laurie Hollywood was dismissed following an investigation where she allegedly played a roll in adopting out violent dogs.

“I’m saying the case was perhaps spun, you will understand that truth will prevail,” said  Ali Girardi.

The protest was organized by Outreach to Pets in Need.

News 8’s Josh Scheinblum was at the protest with more details.
