Amber Alert canceled, mother and child found

TORRINGTON, Conn. (WTNH)– The Amber Alert for one month old Shiloh Gilbert-Alfar has been cancelled. She and mother Amirah Alfar have been found safe in Prescott Valley Arizona.

Through a multi agency investigation, it was discovered that Amirah Alfar had flown to Arizona with her daughter Shiloh. They were located leaving a home owned by a family member and taken into custody without incident. Shiloh was also taken to a local hospital for an evaluation.

The amber alert was issued earlier in the day.

Police said the Department of Children and Families was supposed to take custody of the child this weekend, but could not locate the mother and child.

The mother and child had last been seen at 89 Hillside Avenue on Saturday.
