Man in van attempts to pick up child

BRISTOL, Conn. (WTNH)- Bristol Police are looking for the man they say tried to pick up a 14-year-old girl.

Police say it happened June 29 around 8:30 PM when the girl was walking on Peck Lane. Police say the man, in a van, stopped and started backing up, and then got out of the van. Police say the girl ran home.

Police describe the man as a white male, in his mid 20’s, about 5’6″ to 5’10” with a thin build. Police say he was wearing a dark colored tank top, khaki cargo shorts, and white sneakrs.

Police say the van was a grey, commercial type van, with lightening bolt stripes on the side.

Police say there were two people in the van.
