How Arthur could impact your Fourth of July

Projected path of Arthur.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Arthur could wash out some of Connecticut’s 4th of July festivities as the tropical storm approaches and passes by Connecticut later this week.

“Hit and miss downpours Thursday and for the Fourth,” Storm Team 8 Meteorologist Gil Simmons said on Good Morning Connecticut Wednesday.

“I don’t think we’re going to have huge problems from this,” he said.

The expected rain has already postponed a fireworks display in Shelton and Norwalk. Both towns had scheduled fireworks for Thursday. They have been pushed back until Saturday.

“We get a couple of downpours, and then a little wind on Saturday once it goes by, with fair weather moving in,” Simmons said.
