NIANTIC, Conn. (WTNH)– Students walk for a good cause through Niantic Wednesday.

The 22 kindergarten through eighth grade students covered 100 miles in eight days.

They are on a mission to raise money for the Connecticut National Guard Foundation which supports military members and their families.
The students have been walking during the day and camping at night.
The journey began last Wednesday at the UConn campus in Storrs and ended today at Camp Niantic in East Lyme.
Christine Williams who is with Conntrek 10 says “They’re holding up. This is an easy day so they’re pretty excited.  There’s been 14 mile days and it’s pretty tough for them but they’re holding up really great.”
The goal of this walk is to raise $20,000.
