HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH)– A person is in critical condition after crashing through a house in Hartford, Thursday.

Police say the car struck the house at 171 Capen Street after driving though a fence and trees.

The driver of the car was found unconscious on the sidewalk. They were taken to St. Francis hospital with life-threatening head, neck and internal injuries, police said.

A gas line was made safe after it was severed in the crash, causing a loud, rapid escape of gas from it.

The incident is under investigation.
