NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Four new haven drug store workers wound up in the hospital Wednesday after a chemical spill in the pharmacy.

It happened around noon at the Walgreens on York Street in New Haven. Police say there was a spill that combined several chemicals all used to treat cold symptoms.

Those chemicals were phenol, eucalyptus and liquid aspirin.

When the chemicals combined, the workers nearby got sick. Four were taken to the hospital to be checked out.

The store isn’t saying exactly how the chemicals spilled.
