Man stabbed for having no cigs, cash

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH)– Bridgeport police are looking for the man who stabbed another man for not providing him with cigarettes or money Tuesday night.

Police say the 35-year-old man was in the area of Harral Avenue and James Street when a man walked up to him and asked him for a cigarette. The victim told police he said he had no cigarettes so the suspect then asked him for money.

When the victim replied he had no money, the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the upper chest and leg.

He was treated at Saint Vincent’s Hospital and his injuries are non-life threatening.
