NORTH HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)– A Woodbridge mother was arrested for leaving her 7-year-old child unattended in the car while she shopped at the North Haven Target, Thursday.

Police say a concerned citizen called police to the Target on Universal Drive, where they found a 7-year-old who was left in a car alone for 20 minutes.

The mother of the child, Elizabeth Ball, was located and charged with leaving a child under the age of 12 unattended in a motor vehicle. She will appear in court July 17th.

Police say this is the second time in the past three days they’ve been called to that Target parking lot for an unattended child in a car.
