MILFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — A Milford Lowes employee is facing larceny charges, for giving her mother free merchandise and then buying it back for money.

Police say 20-year-old Gabriela Deleon of Stratford checked her mother out at the register, and never charged her for the items.

According to officials, 41-year-old Griselda Torres, also of Stratford, returned the items and received cash and gift cards back for them. It happened on three separate occasions: once in December, March and April.

The total loss to the store was about $2,750.

Both mother and daughter are charged with larceny and conspiracy to commit larceny.
