East Windsor man in critical condition after shooting

EAST WINDSOR, Conn. (WTNH) — A 21 year-old man is in critical condition after being shot at Mill Pond Apartments in East Windsor.

Police responded to initial 911 calls at 2:47 pm. Police say the victim was shot at the apartment complex, when they found him wounded on the second floor of apartment building H.

Police are not identifying the victim at this time.

The victim was transported to Hartford Hospital. The 21 year-old is currently listed in critical condition.

The motive for the shooting appears to have been a robbery, according to police.  The victim and the suspect are believed to have known each other.

The shooting does not appear to be a random act. Neither the victim nor the suspect are known to live in the Mill Pond Apartments.

The East Windsor Police and the Connecticut State Police Major Crimes Unit are still investigating.  Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have tips are encouraged to call the East Windsor Police Detective Bureau at (860) 292-8240.
