Rescue underway for missing person in New Haven pond

The missing person jumped into a pond at Evergreen Cemetery, according to police.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)–Rescue crews are attempting to find a person who dove into a pond near Ella T. Grasso Boulevard in New Haven and never resurfaced.

According to police, the person jumped into the pond at Evergreen Cemetary.

Police said one other person was present at the time.

The New Haven Fire Department responded to the incident around 9 a.m. Saturday.

Dive crews were being rotated in and out of the water.

No further information was available.
