Domestic stabbing in Bridgeport leaves one critically hurt

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH) — Bridgeport Police are investigating a stabbing that appears to be the result of a domestic dispute on Sunday.

Police arrived to find the suspect, a 37 year-old man, on the third floor of a building on the 200 block of Marion Street. The man was suffering a self-inflicted wound to his own neck.

Police say the two were arguing when the suspect attacked the victim with a knife inside a house on Marion Street.

The victim, a 37 year-old woman, suffered an injury to her head and defensive wounds to her hands, according to Police.

The investigation uncovered that the suspect and victim were having relationship problems.

The woman is being treated for injuries and is expected to recover.

The suspect is in critical condition.
