HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — A Hartford man is in police custody, accused of shooting a woman early Sunday morning.
Police say, they heard gunshots around midnight and saw a car speeding away from the area the shots came from. When they pulled that car over they found a woman inside with a gunshot wound to her torso. She told police, she’d been shot for no reason.
About an hour later police tracked down their suspect. They say Jermal Randolph McCall is a convicted felon, and that he admitted to the shooting, and firing a gun earlier in the evening. Police say the 25-year-old told them, he didn’t mean to hit anyone. Police found a sawed off shotgun in his car, but have been unable to find the gun used in the shooting. McCall told them it fell out of his car.
He’s being held on $750,000 bond for multiple charges.
The victim was treated for a non-life threatening wound.
