Naked man’s body found in cemetery pond

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)– A body was found in a pond in a New Haven cemetery Saturday after a naked man reportedly submerged himself.

It happened at Evergreen Cemetery on Ella Grasso Boulevard. Workers there said they noticed a man walking around naked when he walked straight into the water until he was completely submerged, according to the New Haven Register.

The man has been identified as 23-year-old Levi P. Gallishaw of New Haven.

Workers then say he thrashed around for a short time and wasn’t seen again.

The fire department’s dive team searched the pond for several hours before finding him.
