Flash flooding wreaking havoc on streets in southern Connecticut

Bport flooding

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH)–The shoreline saw some heavy downpours that quickly flooded streets on Monday evening.

There was so much water that streets had to be closed, leaving some cars stuck.

In Bridgeport, a car stalled underneath a train pass at the intersection of Connecticut and Bishop avenues. Those roads were closed on Monday night.

The car was left with its doors open, which may mean that people had to jump out quickly as the water began to rise on the streets.

In Westport, two cars had to be towed after they were stuck under train passes.

Police are reminding drivers not to go through still water on the roads.
