Two arrested in April Bridgeport homicide

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH)- Detectives have arrested two men in connection with an April 9 shooting that killed a New York man.

Elizardo Montanez, 23, and Jesus Gonzalez, 32, both of Bridgeport, were charged with murder and conspiracy charges in connection with the slaying of Ernesto Reyes-Santos on Davis Street.

Gonzalez was arrested this morning. Montanez was charged last week.
Detectives believe the victim, who is from New York, was lured to Bridgeport, where he was robbed and shot.
A passerby found him in the street and called police.
“Detectives spent a great deal time investigating this killing,” said Lt. Chris Lamaine. “They relentlessly followed up leads and identified the two people responsible. It was outstanding work.”
Montanez was held on $2 million bond. Gonzalez was held on $1 million bond.
