1 person, 5 dogs escape Hamden house fire

HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH) –- One person and five dogs escaped unharmed after a kitchen fire in a Cape Cod-style home at 183 London Drive Tuesday morning.

The 8:30 a.m. fire spread to the roof but firefighters quickly extinguished it. The home is habitable, fire officials said.

The cause is under investigation, according to the fire marshal.
