Free summer lunch program

WTNH– Thousands of kids in Connecticut qualify for the free or reduced lunch program at school but did you know there is a program during the summer too?

There are hundreds of locations in schools, libraries and parks in more than fifty communities around the state. There is no paperwork to fill out, just bring your children 18 years of age and under.

“The idea is there are 150,000 kids that are receiving free or reduced price school meals during the school year…so really depending on school means for their nutrition and then summer hits and they don’t have that resource,” said Dawn Crayco, End Hunger Connecticut!

You can find the nearest location for this program by texting “C-TMeals” to 877-877. It will ask you for your zip code and give you the nearest location in your community.
