PLAINVILLE, Conn. (WTNH)– Apparently all it took was a five cheeseburger reward to crack the case of a missing restaurant sign in Plainville. And although no arrest has been made, things are finally back to normal at Big Steve’s Grill.
Big Steve himself couldn’t hold back the joy of it all. And why not, now that things are back to normal again at Big Steve’s grill because the case of the missing double cheeseburger sign has finally been cracked.
“Actually, when the Plainville police returned it I actually misted up a little bit, not really,” said Steven Andrikis, Big Steve’s Grill.
A tipster called Big Steve the day after the theft hit the news.
The sign in nearly pristine condition was eventually found in some woods in Waterbury.
So now, Big Steve is smiling again and customers can go back to enjoying their grilled favorites without wondering… what-ever happened to that sign out front??
“They love having it back, you know they’re all concerned,” said Andrikis.
So far no arrest has been made in this culinary caper but that hasn’t stopped the saga of Big Steve’s missing sign from going ‘viral’.
“I really don’t do social media, but I’ll tell you it helped out in this instance, I feel like I’m trending at this point,” said Andrikis.
Steve says the guy who provided the tip and his girlfriend have already come in to collect their reward, five cheeseburgers. So sleep tight Connecticut, all’s well again outside of Big Steve’s!
