Vintage Dressing in a Modern World

WTNH– Co-owner Todd Lyon and Jamie Arabolos from Fashionista Vintage & Variety talk  “Vintage Dressing for the Modern World”  about how to integrate vintage pieces into your day-to-day wardrobe to add one-of-a-kind personality and style.

They concentrated on vintage accessories and jewelry for women. Vintage is good for the planet. Always buy second-hand if you can, and honor thy elderly relatives by wearing heirloom pieces that have meaning.

They share some ideas about how to put your grandma’s jewelry and accessories back into circulation in your wardrobe. You can create winning looks by adding vintage pieces to otherwise modern ensembles. Likewise, you can modernize vintage clothing by adding trendy accessories, thus avoiding looking too “costume-y.”

Fashionista Vintage & Variety started 10 years ago as a vintage tag sale in a New Haven apartment, with Todd and Nancy selling off pieces from their vintage wardrobes, collected over a lifetime.

Fashionista Vintage & Variety is in New Haven. For more information, go to, and on Facebook find the new Etsy store by searching Fashionista Vintage, New Haven.
