CHESHIRE, Conn. (WTNH)- A man is facing charges after a multi-car accident in Cheshire involving a school bus.

It happened July 16 just before 3 in the afternoon.

Police say 31-year-old Michael Kilday was driving a pick-up truck with a trailer attached, loaded with landscaping equipment. Police say Kilday wasn’t able to stop for traffic, so he swerved and hit a car, which then hit the school bus.

The school bus was carrying campers from New Haven.

Five people on the school bus were taken to the hospital with neck and back pain, and Kilday and the driver in the other car were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Kilday was charged with operating under suspension and following too close.
