Book Lover’s Corner: “What We Talk About When We’re Over 60”

WTNH– Editor, Contributor Sherri Daley and Contributor Suzanne Golub talk about the launch of a new book, “What We Talk About When We’re Over 60,” essays written by women from all walks of life sharing their experiences, their challenges, what makes them happy and things that changed their lives.

Twenty percent of women in the US are currently over the age of 60. Women over 60 have no platform to be heard in today’s America, no style magazines, no serious TV or radio shows. Women over 50 possess on average 90% of America’s purchasing power. Women over 60 are vibrant, educated, healthy, and influential. The book WHAT WE TALK ABOUT gives women a voice.

Two college roommates from the 1960s, who are now in their 60s and both writers, wanted to share the voice of women over 60 and show that they are still actively living their lives and making contributions. The two editors (Linda Hughes and Sherri Daley) are professional writers. All the other 28 women have something to say, aged from 60 to 97.
