One man dead after motorcycle accident in East Haven

EAST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — One man is dead after a motorcycle accident in East Haven on Friday night. Another motorcyclists was taken to the hospital.

It happened on Route 80 / Foxon Road near the North Branford line around 7:40 p.m. According to police, two motorcycles were heading west on Route 80 and they collided with a vehicle traveling eastbound.

“It is possible that an additional vehicle may have been involved,” East Haven police said in a statement.

Carlos Dejesus, who would have turned 30 later this month, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other rider, Michael Gatavaski, 29, was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the vehicle, a 17-year-old who was not named by police, was also injured and taken to the hospital.
