Motorcyclist dies in New London

New London, Conn. (WTNH) — A motorcyclist died in New London early Saturday afternoon.

According to police, multiple 9-1-1 calls were made to the department shortly after 1 PM. Police say the 52 year-old female was exiting a business parking lot on Bank Street. At that time, the female crossed the double yellow line and struck a commercial box truck.

The female was sent to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital via ambulance, where she died shortly after the crash. Police say she was wearing a helmet at the time. She has not been identified. The road was closed for several hours as officers investigated the crash. It has since reopened.
