Hot air balloon causes explosions after crashing into power line

WTNH– A hot air balloon crashed into some power lines over the weekend, sparking a pair of powerful explosions and injuring five people on board.

The accident happened in Massachusetts when the balloon carrying five passengers, including a grandmother, crashed into a power line, terrifying bystanders. Just moments before the accident, people on board seemed unconcerned while waving and talking to people below.

Residents on cell phones captured the seconds before the impact. The balloon finally crash landed in Dennis MacDonald’s backyard and he rushed to help.
