WEST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Police in West Haven broke up a party where 18 juveniles and 2 adults were arrested for trespassing in a vacant home.

Police say they received several calls around 9:30 Monday night, about a group of teens that entered an empty house located at 89 Homeside Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers “noted the odor of marijuana” and found 18 teenagers, all under the age of 18, and 2 adults.

Police confronted the two adults, one of whom “refused to obey the commands of police, pushing an officer, resisting his arrest.” 19-year-old Artay Buster was arrested and charged with criminal trespass and interfering with police.

18-year-old Candece Howard of West Haven, along with the 18 people under age, were also charged with criminal trespass.

Police did not say if any drugs were seized from the property.

No injuries were reported.
