Angry Twitter users fire back at girl over controversial selfie

Auschwitz selfie

(WTNH) — Many people on Twitter expressed outrage over the weekend after a “selfie” of a girl smiling in front of the Auschwitz death camp went viral.

The tweet was posted last month, but it quickly gained attention in just a few days.

Breanna Mitchell posted the photo with the caption “Selfie in the Auschwitz Concentration Camp.” Many users fired back at Breanna, calling the photo “disrespectful” and “hurtful.”

She defended herself, saying she was smiling because she studied the history of the camp with her father. Breanna said he died before they could both visit it, and she was happy she finally made it there.
