HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — State Sen. Andrew Maynard is recuperating from non-life-threatening injuries he suffered in a fall early Sunday, the family said in a statement Tuesday.

Maynard’s sister, Denise Mahoney, released the statement Tuesday.

“First, our family would like to thank the outpouring of support we’ve received in the way of thoughts and prayers from so many friends around Connecticut.  Additionally, the team of doctors and nurses at Rhode Island Hospital have been exemplary in their service,” she said. “He suffered non-life threatening injuries and is in serious but stable condition and is resting comfortably with family and friends by his side.”

“Again, the outpouring of support has been greatly appreciated. We request that our privacy be respected at this time and we will update you on Andrew’s condition as more information is available. Any additional update on Andrew’s condition will come through the Senate Democrats Office,” Mahoney said.
