HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — An off-duty Hartford firefighter was arrested recently after he entered a woman’s apartment on Barbour Street and refused to leave, police said.

Lamont Freeman, 44, was off-duty when he was charged with breach of the peace and second-degree trespassing. Police said he entered a woman’s apartment while he was “heavily intoxicated” and she asked him to leave, telling him he was in the wrong home.

“He failed to leave immediately and called out a name she didn’t recognize,” police said. “She pushed him backwards out of the apartment and shut the door. He continued to bang on the door and attempt to open it.” Police then arrived and determined he didn’t live there and was not visiting anyone,

His bond was set at $100 for a July 24 court appearance.
