WTNH– For more youthful, radiant skin, staying hydrated is key, especially during the summer months. If you feel thirsty, it means you’re already dehydrated, so stay ahead of the curve with these tips.
Drink plenty of water throughout the day but forget the eight glasses rule. There’s no scientific evidence you need that much water. Hydration needs are different for everyone so listen to your body. Those who are more active or workout outside, may need more fluids.
Also be sure to turn to more than just water, about 20 percent of our daily H2O intake comes from foods like fruits and veggies. A few good ones to eat? At about 97 percent, cucumbers have the highest water content of any solid food. Slice them up for an afternoon snack. Throw some chopped radishes on your salad. They’re made up of about 95 percent water and are rich in antioxidants.
And the perfect summertime dessert is watermelon, which is about 92 percent water and contains cancer-fighting lycopene.
