Former Newington town official arrested

NEWINGTON, Conn. (WTNH)– Former Director of Facilities Management arrested for allegedly engaging in theft of town materials and soliciting a kickback from a town contractor.

Police obtained an arrest warrant for Robert Korpak, who had previously resigned as the Director of Facilities Management for the Town of Newtown.

Korpak is charged with Larceny in the Second Degree, Receiving Kickbacks and Criminal Attempt to Commit Larceny in the Second Degree.

He will be in court on August 6th, and was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond.
