Grandma cited after child left in car

STRATFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — A Stratford grandmother is facing charges after police say she left a child unattended in her car.

According to officials, Rosanna Sinatra left a three-year-old child asleep in a car seat in the parking lot at 444 Ferry Boulevard. The child was found around 2:30 in the afternoon on Wednesday.

Police say she went into the Par Pool Supply Store and when she returned she found cops surrounding her car. According to a police report, the car’s windows were all closed and the car was unlocked.

That same reports says Sinatra told police she was only in the store for 5 minutes and did not want to disturb the sleeping toddler.

The child was not hurt.

Sinatra was given a misdemeanor summons for leaving a child under 12 unsupervised in a motor vehicle. She will face a judge July 29.
