HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — The body of a missing boater has been found.

Daniel Strelczuk’s sailboat was seen adrift about three miles south of Fishers Island, N.Y., in Long Island Sound on May 17. The man’s son, Adam, said he was “confident” the body was Daniel Strelczuk’s because of the clothing. But state police have not yet officially issued a confirmation.

Officials say rescue crews searched for more than 19 hours, covering more than 740 square miles, ultimately suspending the search.

“We are all very relieved,” Adam Strelczuk told the Day. “It was very good news that he was found. We look forward to putting him at rest.”

He said arrangements have yet to be finalized.
