KENT, Conn. (WTNH) — Fire companies from Kent and surrounding towns were called out this morning to knock down a fire in cabins at Club Getaway resort.

News 8’s Kent Pierce reports two cabins were heavily damaged. The guests were evacuated by staff. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the fire marshal’s office.

The 300-acre resort sits near the New York/Connecticut, just east of Route 7. Mutual aid was requested from Warren, Gaylordsville, and Cornwall.

A News 8 crew is on the scene now and we’ll have pictures and additional details when they become available.
