BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH) — About 20,000 people are expected to attend the annual “Gathering of the Vibes” music festival, which runs through Sunday in Bridgeport.
“Banooba,” “Love Canon,” “White Denim”, and “Cosmic Dust Bunnies” — many of the bands have funny names, but so does this festival, after all it is called the Gathering of the Vibes.
It is serious work, however, because for the next four days, Seaside Park in Bridgeport transforms into a small city all its own. They have multiple stages featuring more than 50 musical acts, and they expect 20,000 fans to listen to them each day.
A bunch of visitors camp on site, so you need facilities for all of them, and all the infrastructure for a top-rate concert, because in addition to all those bands with funny names, they also have headliners like John Fogerty and Ziggy Marley.
They have a new addition this year, as if all the music and the booths selling things wasn’t enough. Now they have an 85-foot tall ferris wheel.
