Hamden bank robbed at gunpoint Thursday

HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Two masked men, one with a firearm, robbed the First Niagra Bank, 2856 Whitney Ave., on Thursday.

Police said the two robbers entered the bank at 12 p.m. and the armed suspect demanded money from each teller. The workers complied and the duo ran away with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said. They headed toward Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.

Police said the armed suspect was described as a black male,5 feet, 5 inches tall, with a thin build, and the second as five feet, 11 inches tall, with a heavy build. They both wore masks, police said. Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Donald Remillard at (203) 230-4040.
