Items worth thousands stolen from New Haven park

East Shore Park (DEEP)

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)– Thousands of dollars worth of items were stolen from East Shore park in New Haven overnight Thursday.

Police say some time overnight, a thief or thieves, broke into the maintenance building at the park located off Woodward Avenue at Tuttle Street.

Police discovered that links in the security fence were cut and that the lock was compromised. The suspects then made off with a Torro Workman, which is a small utility vehicle, a 52′ walk-behind lawn mower, and other maintenance tools. The value of all the items that were stolen is estimated to be $15,000.

The department’s Bureau of Identification was on the scene. The incident is under investigation.
