BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH) – A Bridgeport Police lieutenant says a good Samaritan found a lost wallet containing cash and credit cards at the Gathering of the Vibes concert and turned it in.

It was later reunited with its owner. For context, more than 20,000 people flock to the annual summer concert in Seaside Park.

Lt. Thomas Lula said, “While I sitting in a police car at the Gathering of the Vibes, a 22-year-old kid, John, from Mechanicville, N.Y., walked up to me and gave me a wallet he found last night. There was $95 in cash in it along with a credit card and license belonging to [someone from] Feeding Hills, Mass.

“I called Citibank, identified myself, explained the situation and provided Citibank with my cell phone number. They, in turn, called [the owner] and I was able to speak with him,” Lula said.

Lula met the owner at Ferris Wheel and confirmed his identity. He said he then told the man who returned the wallet. “He called him and the two are going to meet for a beer,” Lula said.

“Thank you, John and Citibank, for the help,” the lieutenant added.
