NORWALK, Conn. (WTNH) — A Bonnybrook Road man is accused of threatening to kill his family and barricading himself in his bedroom late July 31.

Richard DiPasquale, 54, is charged with threatening and breach of the peace. Police said he barricaded himself in a bedroom about 10:30 p.m. following an argument during which he threatened to kill the family.

“Richard then went into a bedroom and placed furniture in front of the door so no one could enter,” police said. The police Emergency Services Unit responded and entered the home, after which DiPasquale surrendered. He was transported to Norwalk Hospital for evaluation.

He is free on a written promise to appear in court.
