Police: woman stole checks from landlord, library Kindle

MONROE, Conn. (WTNH) — A Norwich woman allegedly stole from her landlord and the Edith Wheeler Memorial Library.

Vanessa Renda, 39, of West Main Street, is charged with fifth-degree larceny, attempted sixth-degree larceny, third-degree forgery and sixth-degree larceny.

Police said Renda stole and cashed checks from her landlord in April, and signed out a Kindle Fire book reader from the Edith Wheeler Memorial Library in March 2013 but never returned it. She was arrested in Derby Superior Court on July 30. Her bond was set at $6,000 for an appearance in Bridgeport Superior Court.
