Kyon Robinson Shows His Talent

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) – Ten-year-old Kyon Robinson joins Jim Watkins and Barbara Alexander on the set to show off his talent.

Kyon was recently adopted and loves to sing.  He’s performed at  AMS (now PAACT), Woodbridge, Ct.,  Fall Festival Concert , Wallingford, Ct. and The Department of Children and Families dinner affair in Milford to name a few. He says is exciting to be a part of the Promote New Havens’ Talent Fest because it gives me hope of for a bright future and it helps build self-confidence.

New Haven gets such a bad name when it comes to our youths, there’s very few avenues that kids can go to for guidance and examples and life building experiences.

The celebrity round is set up like the model of “American Idol” with guest stars judging the final contestants, giving them positive feedback as they launch their career into the arts. The guest judge panel are: Orlando Brown from “That’s So Raven”, Kim Yarbrough from “The Voice” and Kelly Mac from ” Mack Music”.

Funds from this a portion of the proceeds from this event will contribute to a scholarship fund for kids to any institution of their choice. In addition to a fraction will   be used to build Dream Academy, a nonprofit arts academy specifically geared towards New Haven’s low-income, inner-city youth.

The festival takes place Saturday, August 16th at Woosley Hall in New Haven. Tickets are $15 – $55. Learn more at:
